A 28-year-old woman was killed on Monday afternoon by Pit Bull dogs at Namibia Square, in Bloemfontein.
The woman was declared dead on the scene by the Emergency Health Services personnel, as the pit bulls severely injured her.
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, three of the dogs had to be put down by police, while the fourth dog and its puppies were taken to safety by the local SPCA.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for increased awareness and responsibility among dog owners.
The police have opened a case of culpable homicide and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Social media users seek justice for the young woman who was killed by the dogs; as there’s been warning about having them as pets.
The owners of the pitbulls that attacked have been asked to be jailed.
“Punish owners of any dog that attacks innocent people. Send them to jail for premeditated assault without possibility of parole,” a X user wrote.
“This is sad… what happened to the owner of the dog or where was he or she when it happened.”
