The Chairman of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Justine Shaku, has emerged as the new chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Benue State chapter, following the resignation of his predecessor, Vitalis Terhile Neji.
Neji, who is the Chairman of Kwande Local Government Area, said he would continue to support Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration despite stepping down as the state ALGON chairman.
Speaking with journalists in Makurdi on his resignation, Neji said he would not work against Governor Alia, promising to support his successor in steering the affairs of the association.
According to the immediate past ALGON chairman, “Even as I am no longer ALGON chairman, I will not work against Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration. I will support my successor to succeed.
“My loyalty to Governor Alia is intact, and I will continue to support him while serving the people of Kwande Local Government Area.”
