Young Stunna Early Life

Sandile Msimango, popularly known as Young Stunna, was born in Daveyton on November 17, 1997.  He hails from Ekurhuleni Metropolitan, a municipality in Gauteng.

Growing up, music was always around him. His parents exposed him to different genres at their tavern, where they spent weekends together. It was a blessing that helped him appreciate music.

Young Stunna was born with the gift of singing. From a very tender age, the young act started maiming to some of his favorite artist's songs.

He practiced how to become a better singer from a very young age, and his efforts and hard work are paying him well.

Young Stunna attended Benoni West Primary and Lee Rand High School in Benoni. He completed his matric at Unity Secondary School in Daveyton.

Young Stunna started making music at the age of 13 and decided to pursue music as a career.

Young Stunna was initially a hip-hop musician from 2012 before switching to amapiano. He got the name Young Stunna from his fans in Daveyton where he grew up.

Young Stunna rose to fame earlier in 2021 when he featured on Felo Le Tee and Mellow & Sleazy's smash amapiano hit, “Bopha”.

In October 2021, Young Stunna released his debut album, Notumato which features South African musicians DJ Maphorisa, Blxckie, Sizwe Alakaine, and Kabza De Small.

His single “Adiwele” reached number 1 across SA radio with a total of 23.4 million impressions.

Towards the end of April 2022, Stunna was featured on the Spotify documentary Freedom Sounds: From Kwaito to Amapiano.

In August 2023, Stunna announced his upcoming second studio album and it's lead single “uNonkosi”. The song is scheduled to be released on August 18, 2023.
