Following the state of emergency on education declared by Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal, the commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Abdulmalik Abubakar Gajam, has constituted seven strategic committees to address key challenges affecting the sector.
Bashir Abashiya, information and public relations officer of the ministry, in a statement, said the committees were established to strengthen accountability, improve governance, enhance policy implementation, and support the objectives.
The statement was signed by the permanent secretary, Maryam Yahaya Shantali.
He said their responsibilities cover grievance redress, school administration, infrastructure management, standards enforcement, and the coordination of educational programmes and activities.
They are committee on grievance and redress mechanism on the state of emergency on education actions with Alhaji Mohammad Aliyu Anka former chair of SSEB as chairman, Dr Salisu Dalhatu Agile (secretary ), Prof. Rabiatu Musa Mafara, among others.
He said the second committee is on vacation of unauthorised occupant of Teachers’ Quarters with the following members Dahiru Shehu Madawaki Pm. ZSUBEB Chairman, Dr Ashiru Abubakar. Coe Maru Secretary, among others.
Other committees are committee on hand over of JSS and Girls focal schools to ZSUBEB, Planning and coordination of end of year school activities, school farms development and sustainability, enforcement of minimum standards and regulatory compliance of private schools and Ban on trading and unauthorized commercial activities within school premises.
