Dr Nafiu Sankara pledged support for policies that create opportunities for young people and improve the socio-economic well-being of communities across the constituency.
Sankara has received the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Certificate of Return in Abuja, yesterday, officially confirming his emergence as the party’s candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.
He said he would work to provide purposeful representation centred on accountability, service and inclusive leadership.
He was also presented a certificate at a ceremony attended by senior party officials, delegates, community leaders and supporters, signalling the start of Sankara’s campaign for the Senate seat.
Addressing the gathering, Sankara expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and thanked the PDP leadership and delegates for entrusting him with the party’s ticket.
The PDP candidate identified youth empowerment, education, economic development and community unity as key priorities of his campaign, adding that he would ensure the interests of Kano Central residents remained at the forefront of his legislative agenda.
PDP leaders described his emergence as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to fielding candidates capable of delivering effective representation. At the same time, community representatives expressed confidence in his ability to attract wider public support.
With the presentation of the Certificate of Return, the PDP has formally concluded its nomination process for the Kano Central Senatorial District, setting the stage for the party’s campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.
