The 66th President of the Rotary Club of Lagos, Rotarian Toyin Odulate, was formally installed at the Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The colourful ceremony was chaired by His Imperial Majesty, Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, and attracted an impressive gathering of distinguished personalities from the corporate, traditional, and Rotary communities.
Present at the event was Rotarian Yinka Babalola, who was recently installed separately in Evanston, Illinois, USA, as the Rotary International President, becoming only the second Nigerian and African to attain that prestigious office.
At the ceremony, Flobal Finance Company was honoured with an Award of Recognition for its contributions to service and community development.
The award was received on behalf of the company by Rotarian Abayomi Adeyeri, Group Managing Director of Flobal Financial Services, and was presented by Rotary International President, Rotarian Yinka Babalola.
Other organisations recognised at the event included NGX Group Plc, Cordros Capital Limited, First City Monument Bank Plc, New Usual Limited, Iventmaster Limited, Afrinvest Limited, and Coronation Securities Limited.
Among the notable guests were Babawale Agbeyangi, Group Managing Director of Cordros Capital Limited; Adetunji Lamidi, Vice-President, FCMB; Dare Adeyeri, Managing Director, New Usual Limited; Mohammed Garuba, Co-founder, CardinalStone Partners Limited; Dr Olumide Phillips, Founder of Dowen College; Elder UK Eke, a former Group MD of First Bank Holding Co; and Hairat Balogun, the first female Attorney General of Lagos State.
Others were Mrs Adenike Ogunlesi, a leading fashion entrepreneur in Nigeria; District Governor of D9112, Olayioye Abidoye; a well respected top Nigerian Civil Servant, Toyin Emeordi; a multiple President in Rotary D9112 and lover of Rotary ideals, Niyi Sowemimo and many other eminent Rotarians and business leaders.
The occasion was a celebration of Rotary’s enduring motto, ‘Service Above Self,’ reinforcing the values of selfless service, integrity, fellowship and impactful leadership.
Prior to his emergence as President Nominee of the Rotary Club of Lagos, Dr. Abayomi Adeyeri had distinguished himself through exemplary service.
Within just five years of joining the club, he served two terms as Director of Membership and three terms as Chair of Fundraising, making significant contributions to membership growth, resource mobilisation, and the advancement of the Rotary Club of Lagos.
