The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has completed the National Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the three highest mountains in the United Kingdom within 24 hours to raise awareness for cancer survival and patient care.
The Princess, who was diagnosed with cancer in March 2024 and announced she was in remission the following year, shared her experience over the weekend on social media. She stated that the 23-mile mountain trek was a personal milestone and an opportunity to support fellow cancer survivors.
According to the Princess, individuals face deep physical, emotional, and psychological challenges following a cancer diagnosis. She used the event to advocate for holistic therapies alongside traditional medical treatments to help patients maintain their quality of life.
“This trek was both a personal physical milestone and an opportunity to explore life beyond my diagnosis while supporting fellow survivors,” the Princess stated. “The physical, emotional, and psychological challenges that accompany a cancer diagnosis are vast, and we must champion the integration of holistic therapies to help patients maintain their overall quality of life.”
The National Three Peaks Challenge requires participants to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales. The Princess was supported during the trek by her husband, Prince William, as part of her ongoing campaign to raise awareness of serious illness.
