Prince Harry will travel to the United Kingdom next week without his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The children, who had been expected to return to Britain for the first time since 2022, will no longer be part of the London leg of the trip. It remains unclear whether Meghan and the children could join Harry later during engagements outside the capital.
The planned visit had been seen as a possible opportunity for Archie and Lilibet to reconnect with the country where their father grew up and potentially spend time with King Charles III. Their absence from London has now cast doubt on whether any family reunion will take place.
Security continues to be the main obstacle. A spokesperson for Harry recently said the issue centres on whether suitable protection can be guaranteed throughout the family’s stay in the U.K. Although the King reportedly offered accommodation on a royal estate, the proposed security arrangements would only apply within the estate grounds.
Harry is still expected to fulfil his scheduled commitments, including events marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, as well as engagements supporting WellChild and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
