Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has signed a 13-year lifecycle service agreement with Baker Hughes to support critical turbomachinery equipment at its Bonny Island liquefaction plant, in a move aimed at driving sustainable LNG expansion, boosting export growth and supporting the successful delivery of the Train 7 project.
Baker Hughes said the agreement extends its more than two-decade relationship with NLNG and will help enhance the operational performance of Train 7, which is expected to increase the plant’s liquefied natural gas production capacity from 22 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 30 MTPA upon completion.
The contract covers comprehensive lifecycle services for equipment supplied by Baker Hughes under a 2021 award, including four heavy-duty gas turbines and associated centrifugal compressors, as well as two additional gas turbines for power generation.
It also includes support from a local Baker Hughes engineering team and iCenter digital services powered by Cordant, which will provide remote monitoring and diagnostics to improve equipment reliability and availability.
NLNG Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Adeleye Falade, said the partnership would strengthen the long-term operation of the Train 7 project while reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a global LNG supplier.

Baker Hughes said the work will be carried out through its Service Center in Port Harcourt, which employs local talent and delivers a broad range of lifecycle services.
The company described the Train 7 project as a key milestone in Nigeria’s ambition to become one of the world’s leading LNG producers by significantly expanding its liquefaction capacity.
