The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, yesterday offered his official blessings to the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.
The Emir also extended his blessings to all the APC’s 34 senatorial, Hou APC’s Representatives and state House of Assembly candidates.
Sulu- Gambari hinged his backing for all the APC candidates for the 2027 general elections on the good standing of the state governor and Sardauna of Ilorin, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The Emir spoke at the Palace as leaders and members of the APC in the state converged there to present the party’s candidates for the party’s elections.
Led by the state APC chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, the team comprised top party chieftains and all APC candidates for the upcoming general elections.
The Emir said he was impressed by the large turnout of APC stalwarts and described the Governor as a man of visionary achievement.
He commended the Governor’s transformation and prayed for his continued success in office and for the party’s success at the polls in 2027. The party’s court of my Palace has been filled up with your supporters since the morning. Is today the voting day, or did you only come for familiarisation? I pray to God that whatever steps taken by Sadauna Ngeri (Governor) shall be divinely blessed,” the Emir said.
“Whoever sees good t”ings and chooses “ot to say it is insincere and mischievous. There is no hidden place for lies. Let’s call a spade a spade. What we arLet’sing on the ground is a reality. Whoever does good, let’s say it. The Governor, starting with AbdulRazaq AbdulRazaq and parties, God will grant you all electoral success. May you not be put to shame,” Sulu- Gambari said.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the visit, Hon. Danladi- Salihu said democracy is an aggregation of interests and assured that steps were being taken to bring everyone on the same page.
“By the grace of God, all of us will be guided”, and we will jointly support Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to move Kwara and Nigeria forward,” he told reporters when asked about some grievances by a few stakeholders.
“Where there is peace, there is development. “et us come to the round table, and by God’s grace, we will carry every one of them God’s. APC is big, and there are many positive developments within the party. The reconciliation committee has been set up, and I know the committee will do justice to it, and peace, as we are witnessing, will continue to reign in the APC and Kwara.
“By the grace of God, 35-0 is assured, and AP” will carry the day once again. We are seeing thousands of our members on the streets of Ilorin doing rallies for us; we are very happy and we thank Kwarans for coming out en masse to support this administration, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and, by His grace, I know what Kwarans have shown yesterday and today, that is what they will show in 2027 by God’s grace,” Danladi- Salihu stated.
Earlier, God’s APC’s state chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, had told the Emir about the processes that led to the emergence of the party’s candidates, stating that the primary party was conducted by the party’s national headquarters in accordance with the party’s guidance.
He presented the candidate party’s Emir and sought the royal father’s support and blessings to ensure the father’s victory in 2027.
Top APC stalwarts who were at the Palace include the senior adviser and counsellor to the Governor, Alh Saadu Salahu; the state chairman of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Alhaji AbdulLateef Alakawa; and the coordinator of the Kwara Central APC Elders Caucus, Alhaji Razaq Lawal, amongst others.
