Guinness World Records has officially recognised a concert staged by Dapper Live & Artists in Lagos as the world’s largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats performance.
The global record-keeping body announced the achievement in a post on X on Tuesday, accompanied by a video from the event, which featured performances by Fuji icons King Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika alongside several Afrobeats stars.
In the post, Guinness World Records wrote, “Largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert – 85 musicians by Dapper Live & Artists @DapperMusicEnt_. This attempt took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria in December 2025 and was staged as a live orchestral performance based on an Afrobeats composition.
“Led by a conductor, the concert featured a lead singer, an accompanying choir, dancers, and 85 musicians performing in coordination. The event showcased how Afrobeats and orchestral music can seamlessly blend,”
