Governor Bassey Otu, has granted automatic employment to seven indigenes ofthe state who distinguished themselves during the 2025 NYSC year and were honoured with the Presidential Honours Award by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Aso Villa.
The governor announced the package when he received the awardees at his residence in Calabar at the weekend, describing their achievement as a reflection of the “true Cross River spirit.”
“I feel elated and proud of your distinguished service to humanity and the community you served, which made you stand out during your service year, culminating in the prestigious Presidential Honours Award conferred on you by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Otu said.
He commended them for being worthy ambassadors of the state through excellence and diligence, assuring them of his administration’s support.
“With young people like you, I believe that the future of our state is guaranteed. My administration will always stand by you and will support you in any endeavour you desire to undertake,” he stated.
The governor added that those who do not want to join the civil service will be supported with training or take-off grants to start businesses.
The beneficiaries are Christopher Utsu, Favour Asuquo, Ndem Ndem, Freedom Udama, Miracle Bisong, Agom Johnson and Clement Ekunke.
