A commercial motorcyclist has reportedly been stabbed to death by suspected assailants, who allegedly stole his motorcycle at Gongola Road, around ProView Event Centre, Barnawa, Kaduna State.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Friday, October 9, 2026.
Sources said the victim’s phone was not taken by the assailants, enabling the police at Barnawa Division to contact his family members.
His elder brother and pastor were said to have arrived at the scene following the notification by the police.
The incident has sparked sadness over the death of a man who reportedly went out to earn his daily bread but never returned home.
Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Kaduna State Police Command were ongoing as of the time of filing this report.
The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, could not confirm the development as of press time.
There has been an influx of motorcyclists around Barnawa market area, especially between the First Bank and Children Hospital.
Preliminary findings showed that a lot of them don’t have shelter but sleep on top of their bikes in open spaces through the night.
“This is what these guys do around here. They don’t have houses or even an address.
“So, when they commit crime, you cannot trace them, and the police are aware of this development but have continued to look the other way,” a credible source said in confidence.
