Air Peace, one Saturday, announced another major milestone in its international expansion drive following approval by Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to operate scheduled air services between Nigeria and Brazil.
The approval paves the way for the commencement of direct flights between both countries, a development expected to slash travel time from nearly two days, often involving multiple stopovers, to about seven hours.
The authorization, contained in ANAC Ordinance No. 19.449/2026, permits Air Peace to operate regular passenger, cargo and mail services between Brazil and destinations across its growing international network.
The development marks a significant breakthrough in air connectivity between Nigeria and Brazil, two countries with longstanding historical, cultural and economic ties. Industry stakeholders believe the direct route will boost tourism, trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges while opening new opportunities for businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.
The Brazilian approval comes as Air Peace intensifies efforts to expand its global footprint. The airline has already applied for landing rights in Toronto, Canada, and New York, United States, while also finalising arrangements to resume operations to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Guangzhou, China.
In addition, the airline has concluded plans to commence three weekly flights to Manchester in the United Kingdom as part of its strategy to strengthen connectivity across Africa, Europe, North America, the Middle East, the Caribbean and South America.
Air Peace recently announced the launch of new regional services to Libreville, Gabon; Conakry, Guinea; Bamako, Mali; and Douala, Cameroon, with operations scheduled to begin on August 1.
The airline’s international network currently includes destinations such as London in the United Kingdom, Barbados in the Caribbean, and several major West African cities including Accra, Freetown, Dakar, Banjul, Monrovia and Abidjan.
Beyond passenger transportation, the Brazil route is expected to significantly enhance cargo movement and deepen economic cooperation between Nigeria, Brazil and the wider South American region.
With Brazil now added to its expanding list of destinations and more strategic routes on the horizon, Air Peace continues to advance its ambition of becoming Africa’s preferred airline and a globally respected aviation brand.
