The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, His Royal Eminence Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III.
Kwankwaso disclosed this on his X handle on Monday.
He said the visit took place upon their arrival in Sokoto for the party’s consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Upon our arrival in Sokoto today, I had the honour of accompanying our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi, on a courtesy visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, His Royal Eminence Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, CFR.
“We are deeply grateful to His Eminence for his warm reception, exemplary leadership, and gracious hospitality. – RMK,” Kwankwaso stated.
The meeting is part of the NDC’s nationwide engagements ahead of the 2027 polls.
