2027: Kwankwaso Predicts Landslide Victory For Tinubu

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has predicted an overwhelming victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing growing support for the President across political divides.

Kwankwaso, Director of Finance at the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, said the participation of politicians from different political backgrounds in Tinubu’s re-election campaign indicated an expanding coalition that could strengthen the President’s chances at the polls.

He made the remarks while reacting to the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, describing the event as a sign that political support for Tinubu was growing ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“To me, the inauguration of the Campaign Council is like a congregation celebrating the re-election of President Tinubu back to office. What else remains when the same Nigerians we are supposed to campaign for have collectively come forward in unison for one person—Tinubu?” he asked.

The APC chieftain said the involvement of politicians associated with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party would further boost Tinubu’s chances of securing a decisive victory.

According to him, the emerging political alliance is significant because it brings together figures from parties that have traditionally competed against one another.

“It has never happened in Nigeria’s political history that one man could attract nearly all opposition parties, not only opposition politicians, but people who have never agreed to sit together yet, because of Tinubu, they have accepted to come on board and pursue a common goal,” he said.

Kwankwaso argued that the cross-party participation reflected growing acceptance of Tinubu’s leadership and economic reform agenda, expressing confidence that the political alignment would translate into substantial electoral gains for the President.

He also cited remarks by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, and other political figures, saying their assessment of the administration’s economic policies demonstrated an understanding of the challenges facing Nigeria and the realities of the global economy.

The Kano-born politician maintained that the 2027 election should not be viewed merely as a contest over Tinubu’s political survival but as an opportunity for Nigeria to consolidate its economic reforms.

While acknowledging the difficulties associated with the ongoing reforms, Kwankwaso argued that the President deserved another term to continue implementing his policies.

Turning to Kano State, he expressed confidence that the political alignment emerging at the national level would be replicated in the state, with leading political figures working together to support Tinubu’s re-election.

He also expressed support for a second term for Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his deputy, Murtala Sule Garo.

Kwankwaso’s prediction comes as political parties and support groups position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
