Organisers of The Headies have announced a new date for the 18th edition of the prestigious music awards, shifting the grand finale to April 10 and 11, 2027, in Toronto, Canada.
The ceremony was originally scheduled to take place this year, but organizers confirmed the postponement in an official statement released on their Instagram page.
According to the organizers, the date change will allow them to expand pre-award activities across Nigeria and Canada leading up to the main event.
“The road to the 18th Headies continues. We’re expanding the programme in Nigeria and Canada ahead of our Toronto finale, now scheduled for April 10 and 11, 2027,” the statement read.
The organizers noted that “Road to The Headies” activities will proceed throughout the original event window, with full schedule updates to be published across their official communication channels.
They also issued an apology to guests, partners, and attendees who had already made travel arrangements for the original dates, expressing gratitude for their continued patience and support.
